How it works

From joining to posting, buying and getting paid.

1. Join with your phone number

Enter your Kenyan phone number, verify it, and set a PIN. Your display name, profile picture and location become your public identity; your identity details stay private.

2. Set your location

Choose your county, constituency and ward. Your location decides which feed, listings and news you see, and is shown with anything you post.

3. Post or browse

Create a listing, service, job, event or discussion — or simply browse. Each module has its own index and detail pages.

4. Pay with M-Pesa

When you buy, Mtaani sends an STK push to your phone. Your cart clears only after the payment succeeds, and every purchase gets its own order reference.

5. Get paid

Sellers see completed orders and earnings in their profile. Withdrawals are requested from the earnings page and paid to your M-Pesa number.
